Baza at 4 km:

This monumental city, located near the natural reserve Sierra de Baza, preserves practically intact the original Muslim urban core layout , which consists of the médina, the “alcazaba” or kasbah and the Arab districts with narrow streets. Of the“Alcazaba”, located in the historical center, only part of the walls and the remnants of several towers are preserved. The church of Santiago, in mudéjar style, and the old collegial Nuestra Señora Santa María de la Encarnación, built on the remnants of a mosque, also deserve a mention. Moreover Baza possesses sites of archaeological and historical value, like the ibéro-Roman city of Basti, its two Arab necropoles and baths.
